In de derde uitzending van The Voice of Holland deed de vrolijke Brit Paul Turner auditie met zijn vertolking van Valerie. Waarschijnlijk één van de meest spraakmakende audities van dit seizoen. De fans op Clubs volgen dit spektakel elke vrijdag op de voet en twitteren in de reclameblokjes vrolijk mee. Het trekt enorm veel bezoekers aan op de club. Het inzetten van andere social media, zeker als je een club hebt over een ‘hot’ onderwerp, werpt wel degelijk zijn vruchten af!

Paul Turner Fanclub
Tijdens het twitteren worden er ook reacties aan deelnemers gevraagd en zo kwam Paul Turner weer in beeld. Hij verleende graag zijn medewerking. Na wat getwitter over en weer, kwam er een mooie afspraak tot stand. Zou hij de battle winnen (de tweede fase in de show) dan zou Paul zijn eigen fanclub krijgen. De deal was gesloten, nu was het wachten op de battle. Deze battle was nog even spannend, want niet iedere coach deelde dezelfde mening. Simon Keizer zou in de rij gaan staan voor een kaartje voor zijn show, maar Angela Groothuizen vindt dat het vooral om de Voice moet gaan. Roel van Velzen, de coach van Paul Turner had echter het laatste woord en koos voor Paul! De fanclub van Paul die inmiddels alvast geopend was, kon nu echt van start!

Samenwerking
Paul verleende zelf ook zijn medewerking, vertelde wat over zichzelf, deed graag mee aan een interview met vragen van de leden van de club en zelfs zijn ouders in Engeland hebben de club al diverse malen bezocht! De kracht van social media… Zomaar een tweet op vrijdagavond, zomaar een tweet daarna en voor je het weet heb je een club met veel bezoek. De kracht zit hem niet alleen in het inzetten van andere media, de kracht zit hem ook in het delen met elkaar. Onder de leden is bijna volautomatisch een team ontstaan, simpel omdat iedereen de rechten heeft zijn gang te gaan. Ben je actief dan krijg je rechten erbij en hier ontstond een leuke samenwerking tussen leden op The Voice of Holland, de reacties via Twitter voegen dat extraatje toe. De club wordt compleet gedragen door haar leden!

Het interview met Paul
Gerrit (The Borg):
During the auditions you told moving to Amsterdam was easy to decide. It took only a few seconds. Why Amsterdam? Are you an adventurous type of person?
Paul:
Well I was lucky enough to be asked to come here for the Musical WWRY. I had done the show before in Germany, and was asked to come over and do it here… WOOOHOOOO!! How could I not accept. I’m not sure if I’m adventurous but I like to live life to the full!! I thought it could’t hurt to come to such a great city and who knows what my future holds!! SO HAPPY I DID COME!! hahahaha!!
Peter:
Are you moving back to England when TVOH doesn’t deliver you a recorddeal or when you ran out of musicaloptions ? Or are you staying in increadable Amsterdam fighting for your music(al) career ?
Paul:
I have no definite plans. I’m so unbelievably happy (BLIJ) here, and I guess in my head I feel I will stay here. I feel at home here but I also know I have a home in the UK. I really try to live in the Moment, and what will be will be!! TVOH is such a good excuse to be living here hahahaha!!
About the Musical career, I LOVE MUSICALS but i’m enjoying being myself and showing myself at the moment… So for now, I will try and keep my career path heading this way!!

I do have some questions! Are you superstitious? And if so.. do you have your own ritual for luck before you go on stage? (Maybe a lucky shorts you must ware or something hahahah like some sockerplayer do)
Paul:
Hi
Well maybe I have a little bit of a superstitious mind sometimes.. I have a few small Tattoos that represent the things I hold close to me so they are kind of a lucky charms. Recently I have also been talking to my Best friends nan PAM, who is sadly no longer with us, but that just means she can be with me at all times. We had such a great relationship and were always joking. So i say to her ” That you better be watching me, and getting me through all of this PAM, and you better get everyone up there to as well”

Previous, you told me that I can’t shut you up How hard is/was it to shut up about The Voice? We all know, the battles/sing off’s are taken 14/15 september, the liveshows starts on 2 december. You already know if we can see you there or not. How hard is that for you?
Paul:
I KNOW….. Keeping everything a Secret was Difficult.. BUT it also builds up the excitement. It’s like I’m getting to live through the best thing thats happened to me TWICE!!! And we still have the Sing-offs…. I guess I just excepted that I had to shut up and it’s nice to live a DRAMATIC life hahaha!!!

Paul what has never been asked to you but you would like that everybody knows it about you?
Paul what did you ever do nobody evert thought you would?
Paul:
HARD QUESTIONS REBECCA!! Jeez I can’t think of anything hahaha!! I’m having to answer so many questions at the moment (and loving it) that I think I have said everything . I need people to know how happy they are making me. I was a guy that played in musicals in the background. I’ve always enjoyed life and been the person that you are now getting to see THANKS to a great TV show!! Getting to share things with all the CURLIES (haha) is amazing.
AND making my Mum, Dad, and the rest of my friends and family proud is one of the greatest things I’ve ever felt!!
Everything I’m getting to do is something that I never thought i’d get to.. hahaha!! Being on the radio, being asked to do photoshoots for a charity, BEING IN A TV SHOW WATCHED BY MILLIONS!! again I feel like the luckiest boy alive!!

I remember seeing an advert on tv with a guy talking really fast with Lights in his hair!! and IMMEDIATELY I was jealous and wanted to know where to get them hahahaha..
I find that to be Such a compliment.. Comedy is always something that I have loved!! Just being who you are and SHOWING off hahaha!! The world needs laughter and fun!!

If you want to continue playing in musicals, is there a part you really want to play sometimes?
Paul:
I’ve always wanted to be in HAIR!! I love the music and show so much.. BUT I’m waiting for either Ace Ventura, OR Wayne’s World the musical to come out HAHAHAHA!! THEN I WOULD HAVE TO BE IN THEM!! hahaha!!

What is your all time favourite song?
Paul:
WOW… I have Millions!!! I always listen to music and all types of Artists. Everyone, in there own way, ARE GREAT. But for fun I always listen to LOVE SHACK – by the B52′s OR HOLD ON – by Wilson Phillips They are great “SKIP AROUND YOUR HOUSE” songs

What is your favourite food? Certainly not haring hahahahahahaha
Paul:
NO NOT HARING!!!! I LOVE FOOD!!! all types of food!!  but, BREAD BREAD BREAD I think is my one true love!! HAHAHAHA!!! I wish it wasn’t but if breads involved in the meal IT’S SO MUCH BETTER!!! and then it can even be a dessert with NUTELLA!!!

Which hairdresser do we have to go to get the curlie-look?
Paul:
HAHAHAHAHA!!! The Curly look!! Well… I used to ask the People that were in the Wig department to cut my hair or TRIM my hair. My hair is weird if you cut to much off it looks REALLY REALLY short.. I sometimes just look in the mirror and cut off the bits I don’t want myself hahaha!! HONEST that is actually true!! HAIRDRESSERS reading this are cringing!!

And last but not least I got the question from Brenda (with a dikke smile) when and where do we get the pictures with autograph? And if you are recording an album which kind of music would be on it?
Paul:
And WOW… haven’t even thought of getting pictures with autographs. (INSANE) I’ll have to practise my signature!!! EEEEeeeeeeek
AN ALBUM!!! Just the thought puts a Dikke smile on my face!! I really hope the day comes that I get to do one!! I would really take my time but of course it would be fun!! I love listening to Katy perry’s album she manages to keep a good balance of her FUN side mixed with a few serious songs!! But then with A bit more rock and blues!! OH WOW!!! HOW EXCITING!!!!

In concert
Inmiddels is Paul razend populair aan het worden en hij twittert er vrolijk op los. Samen met andere Voice deelnemer Charly Luske hebben ze nu de afspraak gemaakt dat bij 15.000 volgers elk, ze samen in concert gaan! Locatie zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid Amersfoort worden. Charly heeft het aantal inmiddels gehaald, Paul komt er nog wat tekort. Volg Paul dus ook op Twitter en geef deze vrolijke Engelsman een warm welkom. Op zijn club en in Nederland!
